We are looking for a student assistant (m/f/d) for the working group in the field of blown film extrusion at the earliest possible date.
About the Research Area:
Blown film extrusion is a key process for the production of plastic films for a wide range of applications. It is characterized by its high efficiency and flexibility. Blown films can be found in all kinds of applications, from meter-wide agricultural films and multi-layer chip bags to vital medical products such as infusion bags.
In the blown film extrusion working group at IKV, we are working on the continuous improvement and further development of this process. Our work is in close contact with system manufacturers and processors from the plastics industry and reflects the real problems. Exciting research questions on the circular economy, material efficiency and process modeling are answered as part of publicly and industry-funded projects.
Your Tasks:
- Carrying out test series on pilot plants
- Optical and mechanical testing of film samples
- Maintenance and construction of system components
- Modeling the extrusion process
- Evaluation of test data

Your Profile:

Independent and careful working style, as well as strong teamwork skills
- Enjoyment of hands-on tasks (operating equipment, analyzing films, machine maintenance)

Interest in plastics processing and scientific methods

Enrollment in a technical or natural science degree program
