A topic of enormous relevance for industry and the environment.
To work in the field of research ‘Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Recycling of Fibre-Reinforced Plastics (FRP)’, we are looking to strengthen our team as soon as possible with a research assistant (TV-L 13)
The LCA / Recycling of FRP working group at IKV is working intensively on the sustainable design and evaluation of fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP) over their entire life cycle. The focus is on the development and optimization of recycling processes in order to obtain high-quality recyclates from FRP and reintroduce them into the production cycle. Another focus is the implementation and development of life cycle analyses (LCA), which are used to systematically record and evaluate the ecological impact of FRP products and processes. The aim is to develop innovative strategies for the resource-efficient and environmentally friendly use of FRP.
This interdisciplinary working group works closely with dedicated colleagues, industry partners and other research areas at IKV on innovative solutions for a sustainable circular economy. Here, technical know-how is combined with economic and ecological issues in a practical and future-oriented way. State-of-the-art analysis and processing technologies as well as digital tools for data acquisition and analysis are available and are a daily companion for developing new concepts in science for practical application.
The challenge
The focus of the working group is on a real task for the future: the development of innovative and efficient recycling processes for fiber-reinforced plastics – a topic with enormous relevance for industry and the environment. At the same time, the ecological impact of these processes is analyzed using modern life cycle analyses in order to make well-founded statements about their sustainability.
The goal: to design recycling concepts that are not only ecologically sensible but also economically feasible – and thus offer real solutions for the plastics industry of tomorrow.
