Master’s thesis

With your work you will contribute to the implementation and calibration of a hyperelastic nonlinear viscoelastic material model for the description of elastomer foam materials, taking porosity into account.
The work is related to this research project:
The aim of the research project “Resource-efficient lightweight construction in elastomer applications” is to optimize elastomer foam materials in order to enable sustainable product development by reducing the use of materials
Objective:
Due to the complex material behavior of elastomers and elastomer foam materials, currently established material models for the finite element method are not sufficiently precise. Therefore, the aim is to extend an existing material model (parallel rheological framework) in order to map the material behavior as a function of porosity.
Your task for a Master's thesis: |
Your work includes the further development of a material model and its calibration using existing experimental data. |
Programming extension of a material model |
Development of a calibration routine using the iSight optimisation tool |
Validation of the material model based on the results of the experimental tests at test specimen level |
