Master’s thesis

The work is related to this research project:
In the research project “Resource-efficient lightweight construction in elastomer applications”, sustainable elastomer foam materials are being developed and their processing investigated.
Objective:
Due to the interaction of expansion and vulcanization during the foaming process of elastomer foam materials, locally varying process parameters can result in an inhomogeneous formation of the foam structure, which can lead to distortion and thus to a reduction in dimensional accuracy. Your goal is to develop a methodology for the experimental determination of warpage behavior. Finally, you will validate the results of the numerical simulation methodology developed at IKV with your experimental results.
You will work on the following tasks for a Master's thesis: |
Your work includes the development of an experimental methodology for the investigation of warpage behavior and the validation of a numerical simulation. |
Design and implementation of the experimental setup |
Carrying out and evaluating the experimental tests |
Validation of the numerical simulation with your results |
