Extensive knowledge and years of experience in all areas of plastics technology enable the IKV to hold a unique position in Germany. In interdisciplinary collaboration with other institutes, the IKV conducts basic research. This often forms the basis for further industrial collaborative research. The IKV orients its research on the <a href=\"https:\/\/ikv-aachen.de\/en\/research\/key-research-areas\/\">key research areas<\/a>\u00a0of additive manufacturing, circular economy, digitalisation, and lightweight construction.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>In its research projects, the IKV considers not only individual processes and products but entire process chains as well as integrated processes and products. The technical centers are equipped with machines and systems that the network of partners provides to the IKV for research purposes.
