Anke Bardehle, Uwe Nillius and Clemens Wiesel represented IKV&#8217;s rubber department with a total of five presentations and used the industrial exhibition and supporting program to make new contacts and deepen the exchange with IKV&#8217;s industrial partners.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\" relative flex flex-col gap-2xs mb-xs md:mb-l xl:mb-xl items-center justify-center before:absolute before:top-0 before:bottom-0 before:left-[var(--space-xs)] before:right-[var(--space-xs)] before:-z-10 py-xs \"><img decoding=\"async\" style='width: 400px;height: 500px;' class=\"for_tiny \"  src=\"https:\/\/ikv-aachen.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/csm_NEWS-IKV-auf-der-DKT-2024_3875b448fa.jpg\" srcset=\"\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1536px) 100vw, 1536px\" width=\"400\" height=\"500\" alt=\"csm_NEWS-IKV-auf-der-DKT-2024_3875b448fa eng\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><span class=\" text-copyright order-3 justify-end text-right w-full  px-xs for_tiny\">&copy; IKV<\/span><figcaption class=\"for_tiny text-figcaption justify-end text-right  px-xs \">The IKV rubber technologists team at the DKT trade fair at the HF Mixing Group booth.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the area of process technology and automation, Clemens Wiesel presented his results on the development of a process for the in-line measurement of the degree of cross-linking in the mold during elastomer injection moulding. Uwe Nillius spoke about the possibilities of using a grooved feed zone to increase the pressure and throughput of a cold-feed rubber extruder. The aim of both research topics is to make the manufacturing process more energy-efficient and thus ensure greater sustainability in rubber processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Raw materials are the real lever when it comes to sustainable rubber products. Since new materials always require an adaptation of the compounding process, it makes sense to support this adaptation with modeling and simulations. This was the subject of the presentation by Anke Bardehle, who dealt with the optimisation of mixing strategies for EPDM compounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Introductions at the Educational Symposium on rubber extrusion and elastomer injection moulding by Uwe Nillius and Clemens Wiesel rounded off IKV&#8217;s presence at DKT
