The workshop provided a platform for companies and experts from the plastics industry and the hydrogen economy to discuss and present the latest developments in hydrogen technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before the first networking break, Marie Hadenfeldt, research associate at IKV, presented insightful highlights from the market and technology monitoring, which is made available to forum participants on an ongoing basis. The presentation included updates on hydrogen regulations at European and global level as well as technical innovations relating to components in fuel cell systems (balance of plant).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another item on the workshop agenda was welcoming the new forum members Continental, DuPont, Witzenmann Group and ZEON Europe GmbH. Felicitas Boerner (Witzenmann) and Patrick Neider (ZEON) presented their companies and their activities in the field of hydrogen in short, informative pitches and formulated their expectations of the forum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before the lunch break, the participants were also given an exciting insight into the possibilities of using hydrogen in aviation by Alexander G\u00f6rtz from the German Aerospace Center (DLR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-custom-t-rkis-cyan-color has-text-color has-link-color has-large-font-size wp-elements-1 wp-block-paragraph\"><em><br><\/em>&#8220;For a &#8220;non-polymer person&#8221; like me, it was great to stick my head out of the hydrogen cloud and experience what is possible with modern polymer materials and processing technologies. For some components, the cost and performance potential is truly groundbreaking.&#8221;<br><em>Jan Gustav Grolig (Stargate Hydrogen)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stina Rahnel from Stargate Hydrogen presented current developments and the advantages of injection moulding for cost reduction in the stack production of alkaline electrolysers. There were intensive discussions about challenges and solutions for scaling plastic components for the coming generations of electrolysers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">bielomatik GmbH (speaker Beatrice Maus) presented special machine construction for the rotomolding of large-volume H2 <sub>liners<\/sub> as well as joining technologies and quality management for the welding of <sub>H2<\/sub> liners for series production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the lunch break, the workshop continued with further informative presentations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ruth Jackowiak from DuPont presented extensive test results on the improvement of polyimides for use in hydrogen atmospheres and the use of high-performance thermoplastics in valve technology.
