Many samples have to be embedded with resin for better handling. The different properties of the plastics to be embedded and the subsequent preparation result in individual requirements for the embedding materials. Particular attention is paid to hardness, curing time and temperature, as well as chemical compatibility. Under these conditions, you will select investment materials on the basis of previous market research and test them in the laboratory for their suitability for practical use, e.g. cutting, grinding and polishing properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The work is written in this working group:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tests carried out in the microscopy laboratory at the Center for Plastics Analysis and Testing (KAP) provide significant support for industry and the institute&#8217;s own research in the validation of production parameters. Another focus is on systematic damage analysis in order to precisely identify the causes of faults and bridge the gap between research and industrial implementation. Through these analyses, the laboratory provides essential findings for the optimization of production processes and improved component quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Objective:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of this research work, alternative embedding media and aggregates are being researched and a selection of practical laboratory tests using grinding, polishing and thin cutting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quality analysis: Microscopic evaluation of the materials using the previously prepared slides<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Summarize your findings\/assessments and derive recommendations for action<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your profile:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul
