Typically, the components are fully cured during this process. However, partially cross-linked epoxy resins can exhibit pronounced plastic deformation behavior, thereby allowing for subsequent forming. For fiber-reinforced test specimens, it has not yet been sufficiently clarified how process control in the RTM process influences the achievable degree of cross-linking and the resulting properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The work is related to this research project:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The \u201cEPForm\u201d research project is investigating how partially cross-linked thermosets and fiber-reinforced composites can be thermally formed after the fact. Material information and manufacturing methods are already available for raw resin samples. These are to be applied to fiber-reinforced test specimens. By systematically varying selected RTM process parameters, the goal is to reproducibly produce partially cross-linked FRP test specimens and make them available for subsequent forming and testing
