As part of this work, you will have the opportunity to develop a sample geometry and conduct media exposure experiments.                            <\/div>\n                        <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n                            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Topic of the Thesis:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether in medical technology, battery technology or automotive engineering, plastics are sometimes in permanent contact with media in many applications. The influence of these media has a significant effect on the mechanical properties of the plastics used and causes environmental stress cracking (ESC). ESC is one of the main causes of premature failure of the plastics used in their applications. This results in the need for a systematic analysis of the ESC risks of different plastic\/media combinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To achieve this, the &#8220;Quantitative Structure Property Relationship&#8221; (QSPR) approach is used. The potential ESC risk is determined on the basis of the molecular structure of the medium and polymer. As the number of potential plastic\/media combinations is vast, we are introducing system-describing characteristic values.
