Further training for master craftsmen and engineers

2 weeks all day, incl. 1 day exam

This qualification measure is aimed at engineers, technicians, and master craftsmen with sufficient experience in welding plastics, as well as individuals with demonstrably comparable knowledge and skills, whose employment extends to the following activities:

• Welding supervision for quality assurance of plastic welding work as well as
• Supervision of welders in the new production of systems and apparatus from thermoplastic semi-finished products or their repair.

The qualification measure concludes with an examination for the specialist in plastic welding according to DVS 2213.

Properties and application of thermoplastics. Constructive design, plastic welding processes, welding equipment,

welding parameters, testing of welded joints. Quality assurance measures, technical regulations, standards,

Practical expertise

Preparation for welding and handling of welding machines and equipment. Test procedures for quality assurance and evaluation as well as documentation of results. Supervision of welding work and plastic welders.

1 week full-time, including 1 day of examination

After successful completion of the course, the participant is able to carry out the planned supervision of welders according to DVGW leaflet GW 330 as well as the control of the welding equipment used.

Technology

Properties and application of PE-HD, especially in pipeline construction. Installation technology in gas and drinking water areas, pipe dimensioning, marking, transport, leak testing, welding processes, equipment inspection, production and evaluation of welded joints.

Practical expertise

Electrofusion welding, heated element butt welding, equipment monitoring, testing and evaluation of weld seams.
