Examples of successfully completed customer projects

Development of a recyclable, paper-like film

The aim of the project was to develop and produce a so-called “paper-like film” that offers ecological and functional advantages.

Process development for a packaging and filling line specialist for PCR processing

A specialist for packaging and filling systems as well as process technology in the food industry asked IKV for support in optimizing the process for processing PCR film flakes made of low-density polyethylene (PE-LD) into regranulates.

Material qualification for automotive applications for a material manufacturer

The project included a design concept for the strand forming unit, the determination of heat flow and cooling capacity as well as processing tests with the client’s material.

Simulation for special processes: Gas injection technology

The aim of the project for a manufacturer of plastic pipes and related components was to generate fundamental knowledge about process parameters in order to further develop the FIT for these requirements.

Prediction of component properties in additive manufacturing

The aim of the project was to identify relevant process and material parameters and to understand their influence on component properties in order to better integrate melt-based processes into existing production processes.

Validation of material models for a polystyrene material

As part of a bilateral development project between Sumitomo Chemical Europe S.A./N.V. and IKV, a demonstrator geometry of a battery housing cover for electric vehicles was developed.

Successful technology consulting for a start-up

The aim of the project was to realize the transition from the production of hollow body prototypes using rotational moulding to series production using injection moulding.
