The participant acquires the knowledge and skills to weld linings in earthworks and hydraulic engineering made of thermoplastic geomembranes and to successfully pass the plastics welder examination, test group III according to DVS 2212-3.

Technologies

Properties of plastics and geomembranes; basics of welding thermoplastics; hot gas extrusion, hot gas overlap and hot wedge welding; basics of testing welded joints.

Practical expertise

Operating the welding equipment; determining and checking the welding parameters; hot gas extrusion, hot gas overlap and hot wedge welding on geomembranes made of PE-HD, ECB, PVC-P; repair techniques; testing the seams.

5 days, including exam

The participant acquires knowledge and skills for the installation of district heating pipes made of PE casing pipes. The focus is on the proper and professional execution of PE welding work on casing pipes. The course can be completed with the examination for plastic welder PE casing pipes in accordance with DVS 2212-4.

Technologies

Fundamentals of plastics; hot gas welding processes; hot gas extrusion welding; fundamentals of socket techniques.

Practical expertise

Welding of pipe branches, V-seams, fillet welds and T-pieces using heat exchangers and heat exchangers; welding of casing pipes.

1 week full day, including exam

The participant can professionally weld and lay PE pipes for underground gas and drinking water pipes (DVGW worksheet GW 330).

Technologies

Pipeline construction, installation technology in the gas and drinking water sector, pipe dimensioning, marking, transportation, installation, leak testing, repair technology, safety rules.

Practical expertise

Electrofusion welding, heating element butt welding, welding of tapping fittings, assembly exercises, production of practice and test pieces.

The participant learns how to mechanically connect PE pipes in gas and water supply systems using detachable and non-detachable connectors.

Technologies

Basics of the most common mechanical connection systems for PE pipes, general overview of the most important, product-specific connection techniques in pipe networks, product properties relevant to the use of various components, connection techniques, types of execution, molds and machines, relevant technical standards/rules/regulations

Practical expertise

Determination and implementation of preparatory measures and checks on the pipe and connector, installation of tapping fittings/clamps on the PE pipe, installation of flange, push-in, clamp and press connectors.
