Centre for Analysis and Testing of Plastics (KAP)
We deploy our experience for your benefit

Plastics analysis and testing are indispensable tools for characterising material conditions. Through precisely applied analytical methods, we can extract important information from plastic products about the material used, the quality of processing and the operating conditions experienced.
Through suitable testing methods, crucial material parameters for product and process development can be determined, which increases product quality and safety at all levels.
Experience in materials engineering, product design, and processing technology
Perfectly integrated into IKV’s research and work areas, the Centre for Analysis and Testing of Plastics (KAP) offers
as an independent unit to provide customised solutions for industrial issues. Our success is based on a highly qualified team, extensive analysis and testing capabilities and our close links to research. Systematic quality management and consistent customer orientation are essential for us.
We provide qualified support in interpreting and contextualising investigation results. In the areas of material and process development, product testing, quality assurance, as well as error and damage analysis, we develop valuable insights that will help you optimise your processes and products.
Our working method
distinguishes us
At the KAP we offer you a comprehensive eight-step process for damage analysis to effectively identify causes and find solutions. First, a detailed inventory is carried out, where we document the damage and collect all relevant information. Then, based on our expertise, we develop an initial damage hypothesis. A customised test plan is created to verify this hypothesis. Using targeted analyses, the test results are evaluated and compared with the hypothesis. If the results match, we determine the exact causes and develop concrete measures for error prevention and quality improvement. This systematic approach guarantees a thorough and economically sensible damage analysis that helps you avoid future problems.
It’s the endless versatility of plastics technology issues that are brought to us that makes this work endlessly exciting for us and constantly sparks curiosity anew.
