H₂ Business and Technology Forum

In order for hydrogen to become part of the economic energy solution, the hydrogen industry needs plastics technology as an enabler for upscaling. For this reason, a close network between the hydrogen economy and the plastics industry has been in place at IKV since 2021

IKV.Impulses: next session in June

The IKV.Impulse online event series continues in June.

The next session will focus on simulative process analysis in injection moulding and will take place on 24 June. Interested parties can register now free of charge.

The 29ᵗʰ national SAMPE Symposium highlighted composite technologies for a sustainable future

Around 80 experts from science and industry came together in the university’s main building to discuss current developments in the field of composite materials. The event was organized by RWTH Aachen University in cooperation with SAMPE Germany.

IKV research project nominated as a finalist for the IGF project of the year 2025

IKV has received a special award for its research project “Increasing productivity and flat film quality by preventing coating formation on chill rollers”: It was nominated as a finalist for the IGF Project of the Year 2025. Even though the title ultimately went to another project in the field of battery research, the nomination is a great recognition of IKV’s research achievements and underlines the relevance of the project for the plastics industry.

Next meeting of the H₂ Business and Technology Forum at IKV in April

On 8 April 2025, the H₂ Business and Technology Forum will be held at the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) in Industry and Craft at RWTH Aachen University. The event provides a platform for experts and companies along the hydrogen value chain to discuss current challenges, technological innovations and market trends. Other interested parties are cordially invited to take part in the forum.

On January 30, the IKV welcomed the members of the VDI Advisory Board. The highlight of the event was the awarding of the VDI Medal of Honor to Professor Dr. Jörg Eßlinger.
