Reifenhäuser awards the Reifenhäuser Sponsorship Prize in recognition of outstanding research achievements by young scientists. This year, Tien Viet-Anh Vu, M.Sc., was honored for his master’s thesis entitled “Development of a process model for modeling the relationship between set and actual injection volume flow in the injection moulding process”. The prize was presented by Dr. Jakob Onken, Director Product Management at Reifenhäuser Blown Film and IKV alumnus, on 29 February 2024 during the 32nd International Colloquium on Plastics Technology at the Eurogress in Aachen.

Tien Viet-Anh Vu has been working as a research assistant at the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) in Industry and Crafts at RWTH Aachen University since the beginning of 2023. As a student assistant, he wrote both his Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis at IKV.

“It is a great honor for me to receive this award today and a motivation for my further scientific career,” said Tien Viet-Anh Vu and thanked not only the sponsor and IKV Institute Director Professor Christian Hopmann, but especially his supervisor Thilo Köbel.

The Reifenhäuser sponsorship award for students was launched in 2020 to recognise outstanding work in the field of plastics technology. The aim is to encourage young talents to deal with the current challenges of the plastics world at a high level.
