Aachen Formula Student Team successfully passes the qualification test
Before the new racing season begins, the participating Formula Student teams have to undergo a demanding qualification process. For the Formula Student Team Ecurie Aix – RWTH Aachen e.V., the decisive quiz day took place on 31 January. The test, which decides on participation in the renowned international competitions, was completed together in the Walter-Michaeli lecture hall at IKV.
Formula Student is an international design competition in which student teams from all over the world present racing cars they have developed themselves in various disciplines. But before they head out onto the race track, the teams first have to qualify in an online quiz. This exam not only tests control knowledge, but also specialist knowledge in mechanics, thermodynamics, vehicle technology and electrical engineering. Depending on the number of points scored, the teams either receive a starting place at the prestigious events in the summer or have to make do with a position on the waiting list.
Ecurie Aix: More than 20 years of racing enthusiasm
The Ecurie Aix team was founded in 1999 and is one of the most successful Formula Student teams in Germany. Year after year, the students develop innovative racing cars that have celebrated success in both the classic combustion engine and electric categories. Since 2021, the team has been focusing exclusively on electric drives and developing cutting-edge concepts that combine lightweight construction, aerodynamics and efficient energy systems.

The successful completion of the quiz day lays the foundation for an exciting 2025 racing season. The team is now entering the final development and testing phase before competing against the best university teams in the world in international competitions this summer.
