  • Optimisation of the injection moulding process for the production of highly oriented geometries from recyclable fibre-reinforced thermoplastic
    May 20, 2025

Optimisation of the injection moulding process for the production of highly oriented geometries from recyclable fibre-reinforced thermoplastic

The aim of your work is to optimise the process parameters for short fibre-reinforced polypropylene so that the fibres are homogeneously highly oriented across the geometry thickness. You will systematically analyse the relationship between the material used and the required process parameters.

  • Process development and mold sampling for the production of highly oriented test specimens made of short-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic by injection molding
    May 14, 2025

Process development and mold sampling for the production of highly oriented test specimens made of short-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic by injection molding

The aim of your work will be to assemble the Mould on the basis of the preparatory work, put it into operation and carry out an initial acceptance test. You will then systematically analyze the influences of the process parameters on the flow conditions of the plastic melt in the cavity.

  • AI-supported prediction of mechanical properties of fiber-reinforced thermoplastics

AI-supported prediction of mechanical properties of fiber-reinforced thermoplastics

During your work, you will develop an AI-based model to predict the mechanical properties of fiber-reinforced plastics. As part of your final thesis, you will generate experimental data by producing test specimens and testing them.

    Extrude until the beams bend

Bend your pressure measurement: A flexible membrane can be used to continuously measure the pressure and thus make a precise statement about the viscosity of the material.

Recyclates: resource-saving solution for plastic waste?

The aim of your work is to evaluate post-consumer recyclates for use in the injection moulding process

  • Development and validation of cavity-specific cavity pressure control using the hot runner needle
    December 6, 2024

Development and validation of cavity-specific cavity pressure control using the hot runner needle

The aim of your work is to develop and investigate an innovative control concept to increase process consistency.

Use of innovative matrix materials for structural components made of fiber composites

Design innovative materials and processes to change FRP sustainably.

  • Extrude rubber so that the beams bend – design of a deformable membrane
    November 11, 2024

Extrude rubber so that the beams bend – design of a deformable membrane

The challenge is to design a membrane that can deform sufficiently to allow measurements, but does not deform plastically or even “explode”. Your CAD-designed membrane can then be manufactured and tested in practice.
