Dialogue about future cooperation in Master’s education
Focus on international cooperation: TGGS lecturers visited IKV to discuss joint training programmes for Thai Master’s students.

On May 20, 2025, IKV welcomed Prof. Nisai Fuengwarodsakul and Prof. Rungsima Yeetsorn from the Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering (TGGS) to Aachen. Both of them teach at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) and learned about IKV’s research priorities on site. Together with Prof. Christian Hopmann, the director of the institute, they held talks about possible cooperation in the area of academic training.
The central topic was the establishment of joint programs to support Thai Master’s students. Economic development in Thailand, particularly in the plastics and rubber industries, is leading to a growing demand for highly qualified specialists – a demand that cannot yet be fully met. Targeted cooperation with RWTH Aachen University and IKV could make an important contribution to the qualification of future experts.
TGGS was founded in 2005 in cooperation with RWTH Aachen University and combines German engineering know-how with the requirements of the Thai market. IKV sees great opportunities in a possible collaboration – both for the internationalization of its own teaching and for the global transfer of knowledge in plastics technology.
