Call for Applications: Bachelor’s Thesis or Master’s Thesis
© IKV/FrölsTopic of the Thesis:
Electromobility based on fuel cell technology plays a decisive role in achieving the climate targets. In particular, the high costs of hydrogen pressure tanks during production and over their service life are hampering the market penetration of hydrogen-powered vehicles. For this reason, all companies in the value chain are working on technology and material innovations.
The Thesis is written in this Working Group:
In this context, the winding process working group is researching inline process monitoring of the wet winding process with the modern, robot-based winding system in order to record and control fiber strip geometries, laminate layer thicknesses and impregnation processes. Together, the data collected will enable the development of a digital twin.
Objective:
The aim of your thesis can be customised in this context and adapted to your own interests. In any case, you will make a decisive contribution to reducing the cost of H2 pressure vessels and thus to establishing hydrogen applications in the transport sector.
Your Tasks:
| For a Bachelor's thesis, you will work on the following tasks: | For a Master's thesis, you will work on the following tasks: |
| Research work for process data acquisition | Research work for the acquisition of data on FRP production |
| Development of methods for in-process optical detection of defects | Data acquisition in the manufacture of pressure vessels |
| Applied process data acquisition in the winding process | Testing of monitored containers |
| Development of methods for the optical detection of defects for the development of a digital twin |
Your Profile:
- Technical or scientific degree (e.g. mechanical engineering, materials science, industrial engineering)
- Affinity for technology, creativity and willingness to learn
- Independent, conscientious and team-oriented way of working
