Topic of the work:

Given the widespread use of plastics in demanding environmental conditions and innovative applications—such as in the automotive or hydrogen industries—it is necessary to conduct material testing under equivalent conditions. To this end, the IKV developed a specialized measurement method for tactile strain measurement in contact with corrosive media. The next step is to move the project from the conceptual phase to the point where it is ready for implementation.

The work is related to this research project:

This work is part of the ongoing expansion and improvement of testing capabilities and, if successfully implemented, will be applied in several research groups, even beyond the context of testing under media contact.

Objective:

The goal of your work is to further develop the current design with regard to data acquisition electronics and test mechanics and bring it to a production-ready stage. A particular focus is on the miniaturization of sensor technology.

Your task:

Literature Review Literature Review
Further development of the existing design for measurement and sensor electronics Further development of the existing design for measurement and sensor electronics
Assembly of a prototype of the data acquisition electronics Assembly of a prototype of the entire system
Validation of the prototype Validation and, if necessary, revision of the prototype
Programming the Device Firmware

Your profile:

  • Degree in engineering or the natural sciences (preferably electrical engineering, automation engineering, CES, mechanical engineering…)
  • Previous experience in the field of EDA software is important
  • Ideally, you have already developed your own circuit boards
  • A solid foundation in electrical engineering is necessary
  • An interest in sensor technology is a plus
  • Strong programming skills are a plus
  • A basic understanding of mechanics and machine design is an asset

These are your benefits:

  • Work in a young, motivated team
  • Independent work with intensive support
  • Co-design of current research projects
  • Individual coordination of tasks and time frame
  • Fast processing, direct contact for questions during processing
  • Varied mix of research, experimental work and analytics
  • Immediate start possible
