Research laboratory
© IKVTopic of the work:
This research laboratory will systematically investigate the laser transmission welding of TPS components (thermoplastic styrene elastomer). The aim is to identify a robust process window that enables a reproducible, tight and mechanically resilient joint. For this purpose, the relevant process and boundary conditions, including laser power, feed/scanning speed, focus position and joining pressure, are varied and their influence on seam quality and component integrity evaluated. The results are to be prepared in the form of process maps and specific parameter suggestions and serve as a basis for subsequent component design and process transfer.
The work is written in this working group:
The working group deals with various topics relating to the product development of plastic components. The prototype development of a TPS component is the focus of this project.
Your tasks:
- Familiarization with laser transmission welding of TPS/TPE
- Design of an experimental plan and selection of parameter ranges
- Quality assessment of the weld seams
- Documentation of the process window
Your benefits:
- Work in a young, motivated team
- Experimental work on industrial plants
- Varied mix of research, experimental work and analytics
We would be delighted if you would like to work with us on this interesting project!
