Topic of the work:

This work supports companies in making the transition from conventional, release agent-based PUR processes to release agent-free processes. The starting point is the current practice in PU processing with established processes, which are characterized by high cleaning and set-up costs as well as limited transparency with regard to the achievable CO₂ savings potential. The focus is on the evaluation of typical PUR applications – for example foamed lightweight components or FRP components – with regard to their suitability for release agent-free demolding processes. In addition, the organizational and personnel requirements in the companies will be examined to ensure that the introduction of permanent tool coatings is not only technologically feasible, but also anchored in production, maintenance and quality assurance in the long term.

Objective:

The aim of the research laboratory is to develop a prototype draft guideline (e.g. scope, terms, competence requirements, information on processing) that reflects the special requirements of release agent-free demoulding processes for fiber-reinforced and non-fiber-reinforced reactive plastics. The various hierarchy levels are to be taken into account and interfaces to PCA/CO₂ parameters are to be conceptually prepared and calculated.

Your task:

  • Definition of cross-hierarchical learning objectives for at least two levels
  • Conception of a training module incl.
    • Agenda and time structure (e.g. blocks on technology, process chain, risks, implementation)
    • didactic elements (short inputs, case studies, group tasks, demonstrators)
    • suitable media (e.g. PowerPoint slide structure, digital learning platform, interactive quiz or survey tools)
  • Example questionnaire to evaluate a company’s product portfolio with regard to suitability for release agent-free demolding and potential savings
  • Description of the interfaces between the training module, guidelines and the PCA/CO₂ results to be integrated later

Your profile:

  • Interest in didactic preparation of technical content (workshops, training courses, teaching/learning units)
  • Ability to translate technical requirements, standard structures and practical examples into comprehensible training concepts
  • Motivation to participate in sustainability-oriented transformation processes, in particular by qualifying different levels of the company hierarchy in the context of release agent-free demolding
  • Independent and structured way of working

Preferred study programs:

  • Mechanical engineering / industrial engineering, specialising in mechanical engineering
  • Automation technology
  • General mechanical engineering
  • Computational Engineering Science (CES)
  • Industrial engineering, specialising in materials and process engineering
  • Environmental engineering
