Improve plastic surfaces.
Surface technology opens up entirely new perspectives for many applications, such as in the automotive, packaging, medical, and electrical engineering sectors, by decoupling surface and bulk properties. The application of thin layers on plastics using plasma processes is a widely used method to add functions to plastics, such as barriers against gases and water vapour, scratch resistance, wettability, or resistance to various substances.
We are currently researching highly relevant topics in our working group:
- Layer developments for e.g. membranes, structural components and packaging
- Modeling of mass transport through plasma layers
- Recyclability of coated plastics
- System development for in-line coating
- Analysis and characterisation of plasma layers
Your tasks may include:
- Operation, maintenance and conversion of the working group’s plasma reactors
- Planning, implementation and evaluation of experimental test series for research and industrial projects
- Implementation of various plastic analysis procedures
- Support with various research tasks
- Data analysis
- Structure and operation of simulation models
You bring with you:
- Independent and team-oriented way of working
- Affinity for technology, creativity and willingness to learn
- Confident handling of MS Office applications
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills
