Student assistant wanted at the IKV: Joining Technology
Immerse yourself in the joining technology of the future: investigate, simulate and optimise laser through-beam welding processes for modern thermoplastic components.
Your tasks:
As part of your job, you will get to know the field of joining technology, with the main focus initially being on laser welding. This can involve a wide range of tasks, from operating equipment and carrying out test series to CAD design of test specimens and fixtures, literature research, programming tasks and simulative activities such as injection molding or thermal simulations.
The specific content depends on the project and processing status and can evolve over time. This will give you a broad insight into different research and development topics.
A current focus is on laser transmission welding of foamed thermoplastics. The aim is to investigate the behavior of these materials during laser transmission welding and, based on this, to develop guidelines for process control.
What you should bring with you:
- Openness to different tasks and a willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics
- An independent, reliable and conscientious way of working
- Ability to work in a team and the motivation to take on responsibility
- Basic technical understanding and intrinsic motivation
Ideally, you also have:
- Initial experience with CAD software
- Basic knowledge of programming
- Previous craft experience (e.g. through training, part-time job or hobby)
What awaits you:
- Collaboration on current research projects in plastics technology
- The opportunity to contribute your own interests and deepen them professionally
- Prospective opportunity to work on a final thesis
- An open and pleasant working atmosphere in an interdisciplinary team
- Mutual support and short coordination channels
- Flexible working hours taking into account exam periods
