Student assistant (8 hours per week) wanted: Experimental high-speed analysis of the crash behaviour of fibre-reinforced thermoplastics
Would you like to see how crash mechanics is studied in practice and modelled in simulations? Join our team, gain practical experience in materials testing and simulation, and contribute to exciting research projects at the IKV.
Would you like to contribute to the research and further development of modern materials?
Fiber-reinforced thermoplastics have excellent processing properties, and thanks to fiber reinforcement, mechanical properties such as rigidity and strength can be greatly increased. This results in the potential to increasingly replace metals as a construction material in structural applications. As a result of the resulting weight savings, technical products can be made much more sustainable. Since the damage mechanisms under dynamic stress are currently not fully understood, the working group is dedicated to investigating this experimentally and simulatively and thus making a valuable contribution to science and industry.
Would you like to gain industry-relevant skills in the field of crash analysis of engineering thermoplastics with your HiWi job?
A varied and practical job awaits you in our working group. In addition to experimental materials testing in the high-speed range, you will be actively involved in exciting research projects. This includes the design and implementation of innovative testing methods in materials and component testing. You will also be actively involved in the production of components using the injection molding process. The results obtained form the basis for numerical modeling of the material behavior and for carrying out dynamic simulations. This gives you the opportunity to directly apply the specialist knowledge you have acquired during your studies and contribute your own ideas. You can expect comprehensive training for this.
You are enrolled in a STEM degree program and bring the following with you:
- Willingness to work independently and in a quality-conscious manner
- Interest in long-term employment
- Willingness to learn new techniques/methods
- Ideally initial experimental or simulation experience
Has this vacancy piqued your interest? Then get in touch with me by e-mail or phone and send me your application documents.
