Create a smart plasma lab with us
Surface technology opens up completely new perspectives for many applications, for example in the automotive, packaging, medical and electrical engineering sectors, by decoupling surface and volume properties. The application of thin layers to plastics using plasma processes is a widely used method for equipping plastics with additional functions such as barriers against gases and water vapour, scratch resistance, wettability or resistance to various substances.
We are currently researching highly relevant topics in our working group:
- Process optimisation of layer developments for e.g. recycling packaging
- Modeling of mass transport through plasma layers
- System development for plasma coating
- Analysis and characterisation of functional plasma layers
Your tasks may include:
- Further development and optimisation of user interfaces for plasma reactors and measuring stations
- Implementation of database systems for linking process parameters with analysis data
- Improvement of data analysis and visualisation of measurement results
- Preparation and structuring of data sets for simulations
- Conceptual design of SmartLab functionalities, e.g. warehouse optimisation and ordering of consumables
That’s what you bring:
- Enrolled in a computer science, engineering or related degree program
- Experience with UI/UX development, databases or data analysis is an advantage
- Interest, affinity and willingness to learn in the fields of automation and laboratory technology
- Independent, structured and team-oriented way of working
- Good written and spoken German and English skills
Of course, we offer you a pleasant working atmosphere, flexible working hours and the opportunity to gain practical experience in an interdisciplinary research environment. It is also possible to work on scientific papers. If you are interested in these tasks, please contact me using the contact details below.
