Your tasks include setting up the tools and processes on the injection moulding machines.
The thermoplastic foam injection moulding process offers a valuable lightweight alternative to conventional injection moulding. Benefits of thermoplastic foam injection moulding include weight reduction, viscosity reduction, and greater geometric freedom in part design. As a result, the process is used in various industrial sectors and is gaining increasing popularity. The research group focuses on topics related to lightweight construction/automotive, material reduction in packaging sectors, and bio-material development.
Your tasks
Your tasks will include tool and process setup on the injection moulding machines. You will independently optimise existing designs and processes in close cooperation with the industry. Together with your colleagues, working at IKV offers you the opportunity to gain practical experience in the independent operation of programs, systems and measurement technology. As part of your work, you will be part of a dedicated young team and gain in-depth insights into current research activities at IKV.
What you bring with you:
- Experience in the field of plastics processing or toolmaking
- An independent and conscientious way of working
- Interest in long-term cooperation
- Technical or scientific degree (e.g. mechanical engineering, materials science or similar)
- Enjoy practical work in the technical center
- Interest in current research questions/topics
We offer you:
- Interdisciplinary tasks and very good technical equipment
- Practical relevance to your studies through collaboration on current projects and issues from research and industry
- Good induction in a young and competent team
- Flexible working hours, especially during the exam period
- Contributing your own ideas and solutions to current research
